While it’s a few miles from downtown Atlanta, the I-285 and SR 400 interchange in Sandy Springs is expected to have increased traffic congestion during peak travel periods and match days. The Georgia Department of Transportation announced on June 15 that its contractor will continue work along two segments in Sandy Springs through mid-July when the FIFA World Cup wraps up. Construction on six of the project’s 16 sections, each roughly one mile, is now underway.
