Johns Creek's Boardwalk at Town Center opens — pedestrian tunnel to follow in 2026
The 20-acre park behind City Hall is now open to the public, with a mile of waterfront trail, summer concerts, and a pedestrian tunnel under SR 141 still to come.

Johns Creek residents now have a new place to walk, gather, and catch live music: The Boardwalk at Town Center, a 20-acre park tucked behind City Hall, is open to the public — though the project isn't fully finished yet.
Both the north pond and south pond areas are accessible, according to the city. Crews are still working through punch list items, and the most significant remaining piece — a pedestrian tunnel under Medlock Bridge Road (SR 141) — is not expected to open until summer 2026.
The park sits on a 20-acre property adjacent to Johns Creek City Hall, bordered by Medlock Bridge Road and stretching between Johns Creek Parkway and East Johns Crossing. The main trail runs approximately one mile from Johns Creek Parkway north to McGinnis Ferry Road; the North Pond loop on its own is about a half mile. The trail is 15 feet wide and surrounds the pond and a constructed wetland area.
The park is part of the broader Johns Creek Town Center transformation, which aims to give the city — incorporated in 2006 but long without a traditional downtown core — a central gathering place. The Boardwalk is described by jctowncenter.com as offering a mix of active and passive park amenities.
When the pedestrian tunnel opens in summer 2026, it will provide a grade-separated crossing under SR 141, linking the park to the Town Center's retail and restaurant area on the other side of Medlock Bridge Road, according to both the city and jctowncenter.com.
For visitors heading there now: parking — including ADA spaces — is available at Johns Creek City Hall, 11360 Lakefield Drive. From the City Hall front entrance, take the path to the left to reach the park. The Boardwalk address is listed as 11362 Lakefield Drive.
