Newnan-Coweta Humane Society cuts ribbon on renovated shelter funded by Rachael Ray Foundation

The Newnan-Coweta Humane Society has unveiled a renovated shelter at its facility known as Pokey's Place, according to local reports.

The upgrades were funded by a grant from the Rachael Ray Foundation in partnership with the Atlanta Humane Society, according to the Times-Herald.

The timing carries extra weight: 2025 marks the organization's 50th year. Founded in 1975, NCHS has spent five decades rescuing animals, facilitating adoptions, and running spay and neuter programs aimed at reducing pet overpopulation in Coweta County, according to the organization's website.
