When Dr. Kelly Rosenhauer and Kelsea Dowsley decided to leave corporate veterinary medicine and open their own practice in Tucker, they weren't just chasing a better business model. They were trying to solve a crisis hiding in plain sight: veterinarians die by suicide at twice the rate of the general public, according to the CDC.
Their answer is Magnolia Veterinary Care, which opened June 15 at 3631 Chamblee Tucker Road. The practice is built around what the co-owners call 'relational medicine' — a deliberate departure from the rushed, high-volume appointment structure common in corporate veterinary chains.
At Magnolia, vets are not squeezed into 20-minute diagnostic windows. Appointments are designed to give staff time to actually know their clients and patients — a philosophy the owners believe directly counters the burnout that drives so many veterinary professionals out of the field, or worse.

The practice treats cats and dogs and pairs its relationship-first approach with transparent, affordable pricing. Rosenhauer and Dowsley are clear that Magnolia is not a low-cost clinic, but they've kept diagnostic and preventative care prices at a level they say makes ongoing, quality pet care genuinely accessible — not a luxury.

Magnolia is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., closing for lunch midday. New patients can request appointments through the practice's website.
