A construction barrier has gone up in the center median of the Shoppes at Ashley Park parking area in Newnan, and a sign now reads 'scooping soon' — the clearest confirmation yet that a new Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream is on its way to the shopping center.
The new scoop shop will sit directly across from Taco Mama inside the Shoppes at Ashley Park, according to The City Menus, which first reported the construction activity on August 16, 2026.
Based on what observers can tell from the site, the Newnan location is expected to share a similar look and layout to existing Jeni's shops at Avalon in Alpharetta and at Pepper Place in Birmingham, according to The City Menus.
No opening date has been announced. The Ashley Park build-out is one of two Jeni's locations currently in development in the area — the chain is also preparing a shop at The Avenue Peachtree City, where it will take over the former Souls by LT space, a women's clothing and shoe retailer.
Why it matters — Newnan residents will soon have a Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream within the Ashley Park shopping center, with a second location also in development nearby in Peachtree City.
