Lawn mowing in Peachtree City
Falcon Field's median last spring freeze is March 26 and its median first fall freeze is November 6, a growing season of about 226 days, so a weekly mowing arrangement in Peachtree City covers most of the year rather than a few summer months. The hard stretch is June through August, home to most of the station's roughly 51 days a year at 90°F or above, when an early start makes sense as long as it falls inside the city's noise hours below.
Nearly three in four homes here are owner-occupied (Census, 2019–2023), so the person hiring is usually the homeowner, settling mowing height, day and gate access directly with you. If you mow, building a customer list inside one village, whether that's Glenloch, Kedron or any of the other three, keeps the time between lawns short.
Where a Peachtree City yard ends at a city greenbelt, the mowing stops at the property line, because the code bars clearing or thinning any vegetation in the greenbelts.
Good to know in Peachtree City
- City code caps lawn height at 8 inches; taller grass is a public nuisance, and after 48 hours' notice the city can mow it at the owner's cost. (Peachtree City Code Secs. 42-38, 42-39(2), 42-41 (city code saved Sept. 15, 2026))
- Mowers, trimmers and blowers are allowed from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends and national holidays; at night they are a public disturbance in residential areas. (Peachtree City Code Secs. 42-302, 42-304(2), 42-305(b)(3) (city code saved Sept. 15, 2026))
- Yard waste is listed among storm-drain pollutants, so blow clippings back onto the lawn rather than into the street; whether clippings left in the street count as a discharge is one to check with the city. (Peachtree City Code App. B Secs. 1001, 1010(f) (city code saved Sept. 15, 2026))
- Running a mowing business from your own home is allowed in residential zones on conditions that include storing equipment entirely inside the dwelling and getting the city's zoning letter before the occupation tax license; whether a garage counts as inside the dwelling is one to check with the city. (Peachtree City Code App. A Sec. 907; Sec. 74-36 (city code saved Sept. 15, 2026))
- Georgia law allows lawn and landscape watering only between 4 p.m. and 10 a.m.; hand watering, drip or soaker hoses, food gardens and new plantings for their first 30 days are exempt. (codes.findlaw.com)

Questions people ask
How often should a small lawn be mowed?
In the growing season most lawns need mowing every week. During hot, dry stretches or cooler months, every other week is often enough.
Should the neighbor use my mower or bring their own?
Either works. Using yours means they do not have to haul equipment, but agree on who pays for gas, blade sharpening and repairs if something breaks.
Can a teen mow my lawn?
Plenty of teens do. It works well when their parent knows about the arrangement, they have been shown how to run a mower safely, and the yard is flat and simple.
